Hello Everyone,
This blog is to share and deepen our understanding of story-telling. The focus is on visual story-telling for story boards, but don't let that limit your posts to just story boarding related articles and analysis.
Here's a great site, maybe you've all heard of it. This is a breakdown and deep analysis of story boarding language and the amazing film "The Incredibles."

One of my favorite characters in the film is Edna Mode. I think one of the primary reasons is because despite her small stature she's larger than life. She's such a strong character that she is able to push around Mr. Incredible. Here's the video:
Edna is control of the scene. The blocking of the movements enforce the idea that she is making all the decisions. Edna leads Mr. Incredible into the room and tosses his uniform away. She also sits down first which also establishes her as the one in power. Also at 00:54 the camera moves into an up shot which gives Edna a sense of power.
There's some great camera moves here too, I'll take deeper look later. Till next time!
